The black mark on this bullet connector means I connect it to the live(brown) wire i guess? I should of took a pic before I disconnected it!

I think generally the neutral connector is marked/highlighted so it'll be connected to the blue wire and the other connector fits into the brown(live) wire.

Bit of a bodge init? I assumed you were  actually gonna fix this one in the tank? Basically what you had before. Why change it?

It  didn't shut off every time so flooded my van on Thursday. This one should work perfectly as its a vertical float valve.

It's not practical to fit it to my tank as I would have to connect and disconnect bullet connectors every time I fill up.

I would never trust a van filling up unattended, if it didnt flood the van a fitting would probably pop off somewhere and flood the garden......

Better with a static tank  setup

I just forgot on Thursday and I reckon it was flooding my van for around an hour.

It's not an option for me to have a static system.

Never had it not cut off in over 20 years  if it’s fitted properly there isn’t any  issues

I have an overflow pipe on my static as mine failed once. Can’t remember now if it was the solenoid or the float. You could fit an overflow to your tank as a failsafe. Maybe add a hozelock & length of hose that trails out the van.
