I've decided to drop him.  I won't even bother to let him know.   So if he gets in touch to see where I am, I will just reply with 'NO' 🤣🤣

It really got my back up.  Hottest day of the year so far.    Funny thing was I was listening to the radio while working as the DJ even made a point about offering people working outside a drink.    They were talking about a story where trades person had taken ill on the job from heat exhaustion.

I will always walk away from anyone that has been excessively rude to me.

Customer two days, I was doing inside windows. He had Top Gear on the telly. We sat and watched it with a cuppa. It was Sabine the German blonde lady featured.

Coffee and a chat with a Saudi prince on London job and a sweet old lady in a council flat  two ends of the  social scale both were equally decent to me
I could fill a small book with remembrances  of times I have been abused and treated like nothing  and put up with it because we needed the money
Over the years I have put up with so much poop from snotty rude arrogant customers who think they can talk to you as they please
It chips away at your self esteem and self worth
Just to get a few pounds in the bank 
Dump replace and you’ll feel better
If you suck it up every visit will remind you of that time  even years later it’ll chip away at you 
if you must do the job do as the millennials do  it’s called quiet quitting
run the job down till you replace it with decent clients who treat you with decency and respect

As you say most customers are decent. I can't imagine someone refusing to get you a drink of water if your thirsty....

It absolutely beggars belief.....

On the other hand he might secretly think he's paying too much for the window cleaning and then the OP has the cheek to ask for a drink....who knows?

About 20 years ago I used to clean for a wealthy women, she owned 2 flats and a her cottage that she lived in and I used to clean all 3 on the same day.

The flats were £40 and cottage was £25 every 8 weeks anyway I digress , one day I had done the 2 flats and then drove about 2 miles to do her cottage in a very posh area of Winchester.

As I was doing the cottage she approached and asked if I could clean out her gutters, I said that I was too busy that day but I could fit it in time in next time I visit in 8 weeks time and the  cost would be an extra £80.

She looked at me in total shock and replied ...."£80 ?   you're only a window cleaner"
To which I replied ..... what did you say?   I'm only a window cleaner ? then you best find another only window cleaner to clean your gutters and your windows including the flats no one talks to me in that in that manner trying to belittle me"

Needless to say I dumped her on the spot, and yes it may have cost me £65 every 2 months but my pride was more important to me.
