Hi gents thanks for reading,I haven’t increased my prices for two years,we’ve also had 47% increase on our water bill recently ,along with all other prices on the increase.I’m thinking about increasing all my customers by £2 ( most jobs are six weekly ) what do you think ?
I wouldn't send them that. You want to beat inflation not match it.The old £1 or £2 conundrum Put them all up £2 lose loads and wish you went for £1. Or put them all up £1 lose barely any and wish you went for £2.I'd start with the ones you like the least and work backwards.
I think a £2 increase is very reasonable we always start at £3 and go up from there depending on the current price .
Most of my customers are pensioners.Between 2022 and 2025 the state pension has gone up 20%. As has general inflation.I put my prices up once they are over two years old and go for more than 10% in every case then rounded up to the nearest pound. It's an ongoing process. There are exceptions to very well priced jobs but that is my general rule of thumb. So a £20 job over two years old goes up to £23 making it 15%.Now inflation is dropping I will probably row back to about 10%.
