well I'm now finally done, I have now sold my van and equipment to someone on this site (I won't name him that's down to him if he don't mind)

so if anyone now rings me up I  can no longer assist them, even though I am now completely retired  I will come on here now again just to check in

Enjoy, never having to scrub glass again sounds appealing.

I'm hoping I don't have to retire at 72. It sounds way too early for me. Maybe by 80 I will be ready to call it a day so only 27 years to go!

I know a guy who's still window cleaning at 80 and he's been saying he's going to retire soon (for at least 10 years!)

I reckon he's got another 5 years before finally finishing for good.

I dread the thought of retiring for good. Window cleaning has been a big part of my life for 33 years now.

Enjoy your retirement, make it count and enjoy life for what you make it, wishing you all the best.

It's great to have a day off and do other things like I did today, some of us are winding down into retirement  slowly like myself. There's more to life than cleaning windows all the time as we grow older, lovely having free time, good for the body and good for the soul.

Well done Jay, sensible decision, make the most of your retirement, as you get older you can’t guarantee your health no matter how fit you are. Have a cracking summer and chill for the rest of your days but keep busy.

Having nearly retired after my accident last year I’m still buying Alex’s gear, albeit in Canada now.

Picked up the windows on this place last week.

Enjoy your retirement Jay, you've earned it. I don't think people outside of our window cleaning circle realise just how hard we work and how physical it is.
