Pole Hose- Flexi-5 (The Purple One)
« on: April 27, 2025, 11:35:04 am »
I bought some of this after seeing it at the show. It’s purple pole hose, seems way lighter and softer than what I was using before.

Tried it this week, wow! Really good! Doesn’t kink or tangle anywhere near the hose I was using before.

Expensive though, but I think it’ll be worth it. Anyone else using it?

Or anyone found a pole hose that’s perfect?

Streamline

I originally saw it at the show, in Ova8 poles (meh) and liked it immediately.

Wish some supplier would make 10mm outer diameter with 8mm inner diameter flexible pole hose  and not the two layer minibore hose stuff which is to stiff at times and too heavy compared to Rhino tube. which I can only get as 8/,6mm which is too small.

Why is it to small ? Ime guessing  you are using 2 mm jets ? You  can only push so much water through them you don’t need an 8 mm supply for 2-3 mm jets

I see it says suitable for univalve.
How much of a stretch is there when pulled?
I prefer as little stretch as possible when using a univalve and hot water .

Interesting question, it is pretty stretchy to be honest.

I’ve never used a univalve, but as I understand it, you yank the pole hose to stop/start the water flow?

I think this may be too stretchy for that, but I suppose it depends on pole length. Maybe one of those things you can’t know until you try.

It's far too small for Reach-it brushes, the more flow the quicker the clean, stands to reason

Shame I don’t have a “before” picture of my orange hose birdsnest that always angers me trying to untangle.

But here is the purple hose nicely and easily coiled in my van:

Expensive at £104 plus vat & delivery for 50m, but well worth it in my opinion.

PLUS! I just today solved the problem of getting pole hose over the barb of the male slick connect connector. No softening hot water needed! (Also no superhuman strength grip needed either!)

(I made a simple tool that I can use to do it in less than a minute, and more importantly I can take with me in the van in case a connector needs replacing while working)
