RIP Smudger
« on: April 22, 2025, 07:49:48 pm »
For all those that knew Daz/Smudger, raise a glass for him, and his family tonight.

He was a real good guy, and would do anything for anyone.

Rest in peace big guy, and much love to your lovely family.

Gutted to hear this.

Smudger seemed like a top bloke.

Best wishes to his family at this sad time, only 58 too, according to his profile.

A big loss for the forum, always top advice from Smudger.

So very sorry to hear about Smudger. I remember back in January he posted about an awful leg infection and needing operations.

Very sad we have lost a top bloke and I hope our condolences and best wishes get passed to his loved ones. He really made a difference to the forum members with great help and advice.

He’s also been having dialysis for years, I had few texts back and forth over the years, but nothing this year.

I had no idea he was heading down hill so fast. I was hoping his foot would heal.

Thoughts with his family.

Such sad news. Like you say that leg/foot infection photo he posted was a real shock but never thought it was life threatening the way he was sounding hopeful.

Rest in peace smudger. Always one of the regular names you'd see on nearly every thread when researching for help starting up. And always insightful, good value for money contributions.

His profile says active today so I'm guessing very recently.

Such sad news.  I wasn't expecting that one.    Over the years Smudger was one of the best and always gave more to the forum than what he took.

Diabetes is a terrible disease. I felt sorry for him when I saw the state of that infection.
Always ready to give advice he helped me a lot when I first started.
Smudger and NWH were memorable contributors to the forum

Yes I always found him very knowledgeable and friendly.....

Sounds like he was going through an awful time and had to sell/give away large chunks of his business over the last year or so as well as the terrible physical affects of his diabetes.

58? That sounds like a good age for a man from where I'm from as I know many guys who ve never lived longer than their late 30s/early 40s but I guess it's not the norm in less deprived areas.

RIP smudger

Shite! RIP Smudger.

Definitely one of those who I looked to and got good positive advice from. He gave more than he took.
