Sand from the Sahara
« on: April 04, 2025, 01:00:12 pm »
Up here there the sills, bin lids and cars are covered in dust or sand.
Is it the same down south?

I've noticed the same. I think its a potential business opportunity to knock and ask people if they want it removing ?

I’ve actually been offering a ‘bin lid cleaning’ service as a result. Been a real money spinner these past few weeks.

There's a big demand for cleaning wheelie bins after being emptied. 😉

No no,  just the lid!
The rest of the bin didn’t have any Saharan sand so I’ve not bothered.

After an initial wash with the pole, I’ve then got a ‘Magic eraser pad’ and given the lid a real going over.
I’ve even sanded down any scratches that I’ve seen on the bin lids.
All on a Sunday night as well, easiest 15p (per bin, I’m not daft) ever made.

I know you didn’t ask but I thought I’d tell you my process anyway x

Rookie error right there Don Kee, youve shown every Sunday dustbin lid cleaner in your patch your hand, they'll be offering to do it for 10p and you'll be on here moaning you've be undercut.

We had a filthy spell in Feb after a strong dry wind, black sooty sandy deposit especially on sills on the leeward side of houses. Luckily nothing since. 2 big housing estates being built round here and certain roads have been filthy every clean for 2 years with the soil blowing around. My house and cars, van are so dusty even overnight sometimes 😏

Oi! Leave the scousers alone, I’ve been down here for Aintree weekend and they’ve been nothing but hospitable to me🍻

That's because they are all on Wullie Mullins horses. Bookmakers aren't happy with him and I had a tenner on all his horses on the national and even had a few bob on his horse on the last race, think most of Aintree was on it, won easy so must have been a big party last night. 🤑
