Not me , I always charge the 3 monthly price for every single 1st clean. The 1st cleans are the hardest! Forget doing it for free. Iv seen them around too , it looks desperate to me .

Looks like no catch…… Mayb this works but I don’t know. Surely you’d be picking up all the messers in the area looking for one offs.

Extreme undercutting, now when I started out some 18yrs ago, they would have been nailed to the cross by the goolies for such a thing. If it is successful then there will be copycats, and it could become a problem for everyone, although we all have a hardcore who will always stay loyal.

It must work for them as UK WINDOW CLEAN are a national company...

My thoughts are is that they upsell add ons and throw the windows in for free for new customers on a first visit which could work out very well for them...

Isn't this just a glorified "we will find you a window cleaner" site than actually a large company?

Their vans graphics look like they’ve been designed and fitted by a 6 year old. The drivers always look miserable and in a mega rush too. Strange way to business.

A mate of mine took them up on the offer of a free clean - there are load of their vans around here. I think they are based in Leeds.
Anyway they did the first clean then, without being asked or any agreement entered into, they cleaned them every month when he was at work and invoiced him.
He ignored them for months and months - then got a letter from a Debt Collection Agency demanding payment for the total!
I believe that is their S.O.P.

They are or were based In Leeds.

I went for a job interview with them back in 2014 before I started cleaning windows, I figured it was a good way to see what's involved and get some experience.

Even then the guy interviewing was telling me they had 8 vans with a plan to go nation wide. I got offered the job but turned it down as they wanted me to do a 2 week unpaid trial. They were actually targeting people on jobswekers allowance as the gov would still pay their dole for the trial period.

Their vans are battered with ibc tanks strapped in and they do employee some scruffy looking chaps I've seen loads about round here.

But actually they are not cheap, their prices from customers I've spoke to who have used them were way above mine.

As for the free trial it obviously works or they wouldn't do it I know it's easy for us solo guys to think it's daft but in bigger businesses this kind of thing goes on all the time.

I used to work in halfords on the bikes section and was told lots of bikes get sold at break even prices or sometimes a loss as they make their money upselling accessories or service plans.

As far as I'm aware they are nationwide now as I've read loads of these posts people seeing them all over the country so you have to use your noggin and conclude that they do the free cleans for a reason.

That's because they are on minimum wage and have crazy amounts of work to do. I spoke to one driver who was tasked with 40 houses and often worked till 6pm .

There is someone around my area at cleans and empty's GFS yearly for free if you have a monthly gutter clean.

Say he charges £15 per clean, 15x12=180.

He goes there 12 times a year.

If it was us, we would go there once per year and charge 180 to do the gutters. F the windows.

But I get it tho.

Indeed. The most cleaned conservatory roof in the country. Here's a small selection of people who have cleaned it:
