harvest files

has anybody got any good ideas, how to  keep those black harvest flies of you when you are cleaning windows

You could try an insect repellant, I suppose.

Do harvest flies bite?

I was nearly had by a horsefly this morning and I always react badly to those types of bite. 

I reactly badly by shouting and swearing and stuff, because I know I'm going to get a huge-itchy lump that will bug me for days.

dunno about keeping them off you but they itch you like hell. >:(

thought the clegg bite this morning was bad - got stung in the hand by a friggin wasp - not nice using the pole after, thankfully a customer knew some ancient chinese remedy consisting of vinegar and milk of magnesia or something, worked a treat
