Slats from brickwork
« on: August 03, 2021, 05:34:31 pm »

Hi all,

what’s the best way to remove the surface salts from the brickwork? A customer wants her brickwork cleaned. The mortar is however very Sandy and will fall out if jetwashed.

would hypo be a good answer to remove  any algae? Would I need to hypo the whole wall or just the affected area?

Thanks

yes Hypo will remove algae but not salts

if its effervescence - you will need a specialist cleaning agent and lots of luck and seal the brick after.

it always comes back either immediately on drying or within a couple of weeks

This is one thing I no longer try to remove/clean
