Cleaning up stairs

Looking at buying a prochem galaxy or one of the steempro range. Quite big machines.
Can anyone suggest how to clean the upstairs without breaking my back trying to kit upstairs. The obvious answer is get more hose but, will that affect the performance of the machine?

A twin 5.7" vac machine will be fine at 50'. That will get you round most 3 bed houses from the front door.
At 75' you will need to do slower dry passes or an extra one to compensate but it is still easier / quicker / safer that lugging a machine around. Just take off the extra 25' when you no longer need it.
You can also be quite inventive with the use of upstairs windows, bungees and protective sheets to help get to far flung corners easily.
