Cleaning Gym Floors - various
« on: February 11, 2021, 05:19:21 pm »
Been asked by a client to clean various floors in his gym, we do lots of work for him and he wants us to do it rather than sub it as he's fed up being let down.

Can anyone recommend any machines and methods for the following please?

- Carpet tiles - stairs and landing
- Carpet tiles - Cardio Area
- Rubber Floor - Cable Machine and Free Weight Areas
- Astroturf - HITT area
- Vinyl - Studio and Main Entrance area
- Vinyl - Locker Room, Showers and Toilets

Its all to be done quarterly and I am happy to invest in equipment to keep him happy with these tasks.

Cheers in advance.

might depend on how much you want to spend on gear  , you could do it with basic equipment or spend a fortune on something like a truckmount and associated equiptment .
With basic gear  ...  a low speed rotary (between 150and 250rpm) with various pads and brush attachments.   That could be used to bonnet clean the or padcap the carpet tiles , ( look up low moisture carpet cleaning on youtube )     scrub the vinyl area ,  scrub the rubber .
You'd need a big wet vac with it to suck up the wet scrubbed dirt from the hard floors .
A carpet extractor might also be useful for the stairs and bad areas of the carpet .

Astroturf ... iv never cleaned , but as i came across it in a childs playroom during the week i might get asked to yet .  Iv seen it cleaned on youtube either with a carpet extractor  ... or by just vacuuming and scrubbing with a rotary brush of various kind after a cleaning solution was applied.
So either a carpet extractor ... or a CRB like a tm4 ... or perhaps a soft brush on your rotary .
