Hello  , i dont think so .  It says 12v -100 amps
so either not designed to carry 230v  ... or even so 12v @100amps is 1200w so not rated for a high power motor .

Sorry John, only just saw this.

I need to be able to power my portable twin cord from a generator occasionally and thinking soft starters on the motors would help keep the spike in the motor start lower to prevent so much initial draw on the genny.

Do you still have your soft starters installed? If not and you have them, want to flog em me?

Id better hang on to them , useful things  ....     right now  ...  im not using any  , im seeing how il get on with the Enforcer on two cords ... well three ! with the heater .
I can see myself eventually converting it to run all on one cord and heater on cord two though.

I'll order some of those ones I posted about and let you know if they work

I had a 6000kw vacuum power machine I built on 2 cords and it was fab with 2 inch hose, 1.5 inch just killed the airflow.

But it restricted the water pump I could use so I've gone back to a 3 vacuum motor set up so I can have a bigger pump.

I've got a diesel burner in the plans as well with flow controller that works with the lower flow of the carpet cleaning machines, running off a leisure battery, but just lack of time that's put it off till the new year

Interesting  ...   some pics sometime perhaps .
Iv not really seen anyone tame a diesel burner for carpet low flow  . Be good if it can be done .

John - your soft starters - have you been able to test the start up draw of your motors when you have the soft starters on?

Also - did you wire them in the machine between the switch and the motor or outside the machine after the plug?

Hey ,    if you looking at the meter while its starting  ... its very linear  , like just goes up in ones or twos as the noise of the vac gets louder.
On the ssc-25  , there is two adjustable dials for start speed and voltage graduation, but i just left them at 12 oclock .

wiring  ... always had them inside the machines  ,  between the switch and motor  , just wrapped them in insulation tape and cable tied them to something  out of the way .

Thank you.

So they don't generate any heat on the modules themselves?

Do you reckon then the amp/wattage just ramps up to the max of the motor then without any peaks over the vac wattage?

So like a 1400 watt motor won't go over 1400 watts on start?

no , its all very smooth  , just rises up to the 7amps or so gently .

There probably is some heat ..  , if you approach the higher end of its ratings you are supposed to mount them on a heat sink ...  but a vac or two was no issue with the one i used anyway .
