Dry ptfe spray. I assume the oily one encourages grit

Its false economy to be cleaning your equipment for extended use. Surely you guys are buying new poles every week with the amount of dosh your raking in.

Gt85 isn’t recommended, it’s a dry ptfe you need.

Gt85 and wd40 can actually penetrate the carbon and weaken it.

But WD40 do actually sell a PTFE dry spray though as in Cheds link. Anyway, I use the Toolstation one, have done for years. It's cheap and effective.

Have to be honest I don't understand the point of using it.  I used it when it was first recommended but have to say found no apparent benefit to it at all, not that I could tell anyway.
My poles never worked any better when I used it.  It didn't stop grit getting in the pole and embedding itself in the stop tape when the hose was wet.  It didn't make it so I can take my pole apart and clean it any less often.  So I don't use it anymore.  I just clean my poles regularly and they work just fine.   This is my experience anyway

Yeah, that’s what I use. Gt85 doesn’t though.
