Cleaning Lead Flashing

Ive got some lead flashing under my window sills that has gone a very light grey/white color. (lead carbonate i think)

Can anyone recommend a good product and method of cleaning up the lead before applying patination oil to make it look a bit fresher?

Fine wire wool or bronze wool rub wet with white vinegar
