I bought a 11 plate a few months ago, ideal pick up if you also ferry the kids around, I had to update the rear springs as they didn't like the weight that much, got some 4+1 put on and new shocks, perfect ride now.

I was just looking at uprated springs this afternoon, ive a feeling im going to spend some money on this thing lol

what size tank do you have in ?

Gomo check milners off road for your parts they are good and supply loads of stuff for pick ups etc I've used them for years.  I've just uprateed the leaf springs and shockers on my l200

what size tank do you have in ?

400ltr upright, still loads of room in the rear as well. Perfect for what i wanted, when I get the time ill put it into a place for the chassis to be treat and plated, there is a place that does it all for around £600.

surely a 500L tank is what you need minimum....i often drain my tank in 5-6 hours work......

For now i have just put a 350l tank in that i had in the garage....that and half a dozen barrels. Its a flattish tank and there is just enough room to tip the barrels in.


Soon as ive sold my van  i will get a custom tank built, should get a 600l one in , i use about 500 a day on average

It might seem odd, but I genuinely prefer a van to a truck. I prefer the higher driving position. I’d have a Combo over a truck any day.

Not always Daz, this does me in mine with the work I do, Ive a van with a 650ltr in and that does the majority of the work

Money being no object I would have a gone for an amarok or a hilux as they are probably the best built but realistically at the price I paid they were much older with higher mileage.

It was either the navara, l200 or ranger and just boiled down to which I could find the best deal on.

I specifically wanted white which narrowed down my options a bit.

I'd have one, it's not a defender though. I wouldn't be chopping the back off and bolting on Aluminium chequer plate, that's for sure.

Out of interest have you given any thoughts to securing it  ?
thats not a dig btw. My ranger had external rails that I looped cargo slings through and tightened with a ratchet strap. This held it tight against the bulkhead and tightly wedged between the wheel arches it never budged. Keep the updates coming, be interested to see how it all looks and fits once finished.

thats not a dig btw. My ranger had external rails that I looped cargo slings through and tightened with a ratchet strap. This held it tight against the bulkhead and tightly wedged between the wheel arches it never budged. Keep the updates coming, be interested to see how it all looks and fits once finished. 

2 or 3 good ratchet straps should do it

I will wedge some wood down the sides of the tank/arches to stop it moving

Hard to tell on the pic but theres 3 metal rails running round the sides and 2 on the floor (covered up in the pic i posted before)

these take sliding hooks to fasten stuff to.

once its strapped to these i reckon it will be as safe as in a cage if not more so
