You will receive a grant from HMRC to cover the lower of 80% of an employee’s regular wage or £2,500 per month, plus the associated Employer National Insurance contributions and minimum automatic enrolment employer pension contributions on that subsidised wage.
To be eligible you must have created and started a PAYE payroll scheme on or before 28 February 2020 and have a UK bank account.
Furloughed employees must have been on your PAYE payroll on 28 February 2020.
The scheme also covers employees who were made redundant since 28 February 2020, if they are rehired by their employer.
To be eligible for the subsidy, when on furlough, an employee can not undertake work for or on behalf of the organisation.
If an employee is working, but on reduced hours, or for reduced pay, they will not be eligible for this scheme.
You do not need to place all your employees on furlough.
The online service you’ll use to claim is not available yet. It is expected to be available by the end of April 2020.
You can only submit one claim at least every 3 weeks, which is the minimum length an employee can be furloughed for. Claims can be backdated until the 1 March if applicable.
Once HMRC have received your claim and you are eligible for the grant, they will pay it via BACS payment to a UK bank account.

I don't quite get the point of the post!  Other than you reiterating what the Government have already said?

I don't quite get the point of the post!  Other than you reiterating what the Government have already said?

I think he's just passing on the message to those that haven't got it first hand from the Government  :)

Personally I'm not fretting about what I can and cannot get from the Government and concentrating my efforts on keeping myself and employee on the glass without any loss of earnings and as little disruption as possible and obviously following guidelines keeping it legal

HMRC have issued further guidance on what information employers will need to make a claim for the retention scheme for furloughed workers.

1 Bank account number and sort code for HMRC to pay your claim
2 Name and phone number of the person in your business HMRC are to call with any questions
3 Your company UTR ( unique tax reference )
4 Name, employee number and NI number for each furloughed worker
5 The total amount being claimed for all employees.

It would be advisable to have this information at hand when the portal goes live on 20th April.

HMRC have amended the information that is required, they have now said that they also require the PAYE reference number.
