Another day of 8-9 people phoning me for a quote over the phone, another day of them being shocked that I would dare charge £45 plus vat for a 3 seater sofa, so here is the new telephone pitch that you are all welcome to use.
she says: How much for a sofa
you say: £45 + vat
she says: HOW MUCH! I am just phoning around at the moment, I'll let you know.
you say: Well we do have whats known as the value service.
she says: whats that then
you say: Well for 25 quid (no vat
)I will send my mate round, he's 18 but on the dole & just wants a few quid for the old sky rocket. He is an ok chap but does smell a bit (old t shirt & jeans so he does not mess up his good stuff). He has a quality carpet machine called a 'george' which is a really good machine. To get those stubborn stains out he will be using Persil in the machine. He's not insured but surely thats not a problem. Obviously there is no need for that silly prespray gear on the value service.
she says: Oh right is he trained.
you say: Trained....for using a George...He's got the instruction booklet if thats what you mean
she says: Well I have only spent 3 grand on carpeting my new house so what the hell, whats the worse that can happen!
