« on: October 08, 2019, 11:29:40 pm »

It's a numax done me well
If anyone can recommend a good one please link this battery will run 2 pumps 2 switches at times so 115 amp + ?
Also if I dont wana wait days for it to arrive anything wrong with the halfords ones?

I have been using the halfords ones for years, they have a 2 year warranty and always last just over 2 years before they start losing charge.

Running what you are running I wouldn’t worry,if you had a diesel heater on top of that you’d need to think again,I got 2 from grippa which are Lucas they are just starting to drop quicker now about 2 years on.

Oliver James was recommending a battery last week. He must have used it more than a week now without any issue so must be good!

Yuasa EFB  100ah - £109inc. Or Varta LFD90 Powerframe - £91.32 (its only 90ah but powerframe tech will take and hold a 13v charge even after its been rested, giving u a little bit more capacity) both are at Tayna Batteries. These are followed by bosch/banner/exide. I went for the yuasa efb 100ah x 2, each one rotated daily. The EFB tech (enhanced flooded battery) will give you a lot more cycles than a standard lead acid battery. If i remember right, one cycle is classed as 50% drain of a full charge (100% = 12.8v)  (50% = 12.2v). So if you had a 100ah batt running 2 shurflo 5.2l pumps and 2 spring type controllers off/on for 4 hours continuous, you would draw out about a fast 15ah. You can buy a volt meter of *bay (£10 each) and loop them in to each of your controllers and it will tell you the total amp hours, volts, watts etc. so u know what power your drawing out of each pump & controller. The uses of a leisure battery is gauged on something the manufacturers call a 20 hr rule, (i.e drawing lower amps off/on over a longer time period like a caravan fridge/lights/tv etc. which would let the batt recover). But in our trade we cain them a lot faster than that as its constant, so we can expect a shorter life span. It helps a bit if u have a split charge relay to top them up, but if your work is very compact, they dont have enough driving time to wack a decent charge in. A good charger is important too, i use a victron energy intelligent 15amp charger (with a 10m bluetooth monitor gimick) and a ctek 5amp charger as backup which is good also. The amount of leisure batteries ive killed over the years, by just not knowing how to treat them is unreal. So i did several days researching into this about 6 months ago when i was doing the same as u are now, so hope this helps, good luck m

Can't really recommend it due to the length of time I've used it which is only ten months, but I think it should be a great battery from what I've read.

That charger is close to £150 with a holder. Phew!
