Selling a cleaning firm, advice please........
« on: June 14, 2019, 04:01:28 pm »
Hi all
I'm looking to retire and am preparing to hopefully sell the business, established in 1979 we've been around a while, I've slowed things down over the past 5 years and turnover is around £100k!!
Has anyone sold a business? did you use a broker? if so which one? costs? any helpful hints or things to avoid?
Any feedback will be much appreciated
 Cheers

Hi Glenn
To maximise profit in the sale you want to be looking at making sure you have a good management structure in place, is it based from home, can it run without you or are you the linchpin for the organisation. Basing it on your turnover you will be looking to sell it to a business as a ‘bolt on’ so they can get a foothold in your area. Are all your contracts signed up or on a handshake? TUPE - will your staff work for someone else or are they family / friends? Happy to answer any questions just drop me a an email - tim@mcsclean.co.uk
Cheers
