How many types of advertising do you use?
« on: June 29, 2006, 07:39:36 pm »
Hi all,
I've been in the business for about 16 months now, and I am wondering how many avenues of advertising you do. In my case, it is usually three, which probably alot of you might say is not enough. If you say that, I think I would agree  :)
I have a YP advert which works very well
I am in a local free glossy magazine for my area which works well on occasion, but some months not alot from it.
Also I do a few thousand leaflets here and there, but not in a orderd fasion if you see what I mean. A few hundred here, a few hundred there etc.

Can some of you please take a minute to type down what advertising you have as I believe that I need to find some more areas for advertising my services.
Thanks
Ben

a y/p ad that is completly rubbish and brings no work so not worth counting

internet

leaflets

Ps, my advice is dont look so much for new avenues to bring work, look to making your existing advertising work better that way it will cost you no more. Your allready paying for the advertising so you have to make sure you squeeze every last job out of them.

since working on my website and leaflets i have managed to double the response from each, just by changing things around and monitering responses. Why not try changing the design of your leaflets and ad in the local mag and see if you can get them to pull more customers?

Instead of looking for more customers try and improve on the average spend per customer.

If they only ask for 1 carpet to be cleaned offer them a free quote on another while you are there.

When you feel ready put your prices up and you'll find that you definately won't needed to find as many jobs to reach the same target.

@ Shaun, Im quite new to this business, and NEED more customers. Do we ever get more than enough customers? I wouldnt have thought so.

Anyway, just to bump this to the top as not many replies so far.
