Block paving with stones instead of sand

Hi guys

Hope you're all well.

We have been asked to clean a block paved driveway, there is a lot of moss in between the gaps. The gaps in-between the blocks have stones in instead of sand. If we were to clean and put sand back down is that ok?

Sounds like a SUDS driveway, you'll need to replace with the correct size chippings if it is.
