My outside tap is frozen and has been for a couple of days so I'll need to get it thawed out without bursting the pipe, at least I've got my tax return done.

Still  -5 here in Essex according to app. Transfer hose in garage was frozen solid. Got some water on my boots and froze to the frigging pavement !!...pmsl. Had heaters in vans for 4 hours and pole hose still frozen. Gonna go about 10 but more concerned how the water is gonna react/freeze at customers houses.....gulp !!

how long have you been wfp?10 years ?longer than me im sure and you still get caught out with the cold weather........shame on you!

I’ve been lucky with this week.
Since the Christmas break, I decided to go pretty quickly through my work for the month and see when I finish.
I did my round in three weeks, so had this week off. Good timing eh!!! 
So cutting wood for the fire and a few other jobs around the house.

ive got a few hours to do today then im off til next wed,january has been my best month EVER in 26 years of window cleaning...i love this job.......

It's still snowing here and the roads are poor. I instructed my chaps to go home at 1:30pm. The forecase was for the snow to stop at 10 hence giving them the choice. I got it wrong last year too. Called the day off at 8 and snow finished by 10.

When my sister moved to Co Durham some years back, she heard a weather forecaster mention some 'little skytie bits'.  She had to ask at work the next day what they meant . The answer was 'snow'.

I sacked yesterday off in the end.  It snowed in the night, the roads looked dodgy, and the pipes were frozen anyway.
Today I managed to work after a delayed start.  I disconnected the pump connector the day before and broke it pushing it back in this morning.  I guess it was a bit brittle with cold.  I have a couple of spares, but it was a bit of faffing around.  Finally got going about 11 and knocked off about 3 when the sleety rain became a hassle.
Not the greatest day but satisfied.
