At what point do you retire from windows or at what age would you think to stop using ladders perhaps?

Saw these two soldering on, cleaning signs n windows in Doncaster Town center, made me smile but thought, "come on lads, u could make that so much easier for their agein life"

Hehe  I saw a guy working on the house opposite me that I cleaned today.  I pulled up and saw an old chap dithering and wobbling around. He was working the front downstairs.   I did my job and finished got back in van and saw he was only one the next window at the front.  His soap must have dried before he tried to blade.

Felt really sorry for him as he looked so misserable.   I gave him a smile and waved at him and he just looked away.

2 window cleaners  i know that have been going 50+ years...still on ladders too...they wont change now...too long in the tooth and set in their ways to change......

by the way they both look great for their age(both 70+ now) and work part time topping up their pensions....

If i have to work part time as a window cleaner at 60+ then so be it, id rather not though.

Who knows what the industry will be like in 30 years though.

there is a bloke in town still on the ladders and he is 77 !!!!

I'm no Sherlock Holmes but the guy footing the ladder looks like somebody from the solicitors office who has asked the shiner to give the sign a quick wipe.
Its an old shiner who tops up his pension by doing the odd shop  front and once again Nathan has put two and two together and got five, that said if he invested in wfp and a concrete melting hot water system he could be the richest shiner in the nursing home. lol

My post ain't about the old boy holding the ladders but the old boy up the ladder.
The fact the old lad is up a ladder and/or willing to use a ladder at his age.
I'm now 41, came onto wfp when I was 38/39. I certainly ain't planning on working as old as he looks and if I happen to be doing so then I certainly ain't going to be using ladders.

You need to have a lot to retire on.

E.g. most I guess would not want to retire on less than £400 per week. If you save/invest £400 per month it would take a lot of years to achieve this, or you would have to invest a much higher monthly amount.
