Would I be correct in assuming that currently this forum is predominantly a Window Cleaning site and the other headings are just insignificant add ons?

It would seem that way. I've noticed this year that posts are becoming few and far between. Maybe all the carpet cleaners are too busy to post on here or perhaps everybody is so adept at their job that they don't need advice anymore. :-\

As I predicted a couple of years ago Facebook has killed the forums, what take the time to compose a grammatically correct post of more than 15 words when you can post on facebook ‘wats this ow do I clen it’

Luckily the window cleaners are still making an effort  but Facebook is so ingrained  into people’s lives that it’s easier to post a question there while chatting to family and friends.

There is a lot of activity within the section in terms of views - the page views in this section is still very high when looking at the stats and the topic views. However the interaction and conversations does seem to have dropped. There is a lot of information and people can come in and learn A LOT without getting involved. Hopefully if the forum has helped you, you can help others.

I agree with admin, I still use the search on here when I want to find out about a product . Chances are what ever I want to use or try out has already been discussed in 2004.

I think what puts some carpet cleaners off who have been around the block a few times is people coming on here asking all the same old questions eg. Whats machine do i need? whats the best prespray? etc .... etc.... Its not new ones fault because they are all the questions you ask when you start out, but answering it for the 5000th time gets a bit boring. Facebook has created closed groups which have cut this down a bit on some, but increased it even more on others. The problem with facebook groups is there is so many of them it could be a full time job keeping up with it all... and to be fair all thats the same old rubbish.

This forum is a good tool, Its got years worth of knowledge stored here for anyone willing to look and there are still enough experienced people using it to eventually get a useful answer to a reasonable question.

The problem with all forums is that you have the same people replying to questions and problems and there are too many lurkers.  Forums are about offering advice and help,   but to work that then requires interaction and discussion from other professionals and forum members to keep the topic on topic and interesting.  All too often you will see a post from a newbie and once they have an answer they don’t bother coming back on or even bother replying and thanking the person / persons that solved their problem.  There are also a lot of members on here who only use the forum for Selling purposes, personally I wouldn’t even let someone register unless the supplied their real name, address and contact details either.  All too often I have gone into someone’s profile only to find they have not even bothered to supply their location so I don’t bother replying.  All the aforementioned is my opinion only.

some dont
some of you lot think your the gods of carpet cleaning yeah right
your just sitting waiting to shoot someone down
some of you are so much above every one ,so you think

Sometimes many replies come across like that but I am sure they are not all intended that way But after all it is only a forum.  Extract the information you want, reply to whom you want to reply to and leave alone who you don’t want to reply to.  There is nothing personal about it.  Clearly if you can see something wrong then either work to improve it by adding your own thoughts, report it to a moderator or email admin.

But you have contributed vastly by adding over a 1000 posts!  That makes you a valuable member IMO
