Ive been using the slx25 for my everyday pole for about a yr n half now,  its a great every day pole.   But recently added a base section making it the slx27 and thats my everyday pole now.

Get an slx 18 or 22 as your main pole and keep the clx 27 for occasional higher jobs.

Yes for the sake of £100 quid or so the difference is night and day.

I have an slx 18 and an slx22 with a clx extension on it making it 27ft and I hate using the thing now, it weighs a tonne in comparison

By adding another section you only gain 2'. That can't be right Nathan. It must be longer than 27'.

The slx25 is five poles, the slx27 is six poles taking it from a working reach of 30ft to 32.
But i suppose it depends on the height of the person.
I do fully extend the last pole sometimes so im sure its more than an extra 2ft it gives.
It allows me to get these windows quite  easily

No mate, I have the slx 27 and I bought that because when collapsed it is shorter than the slx 25.

So the slx 25 sections must be longer than the slx 27, if you have added to it, it must be longer

Im the same , SLX 18 with bottom 2 sections of a CLX27 added when needed .
I think i will go for the SLX 22 next time and just add the last section of the CLX 27 ,
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

thing is you only save 30 quid or something going for a clx section over an slx, tight buggers some of us  ;D

My decision is based soley on collapsed length , the 18 and 22 come in at 149cm  where as it jumps up after that .
The 18 covers pretty much all i do on the domestic side anyway , but i do feel the 22 would suit better as i often think that i am extending the pole to full stretch and not getting the correct position for my body /back , the 22 will put this right and should last longer due to the ability to clamp in different places as opposed to full stretch wearing the clamping positions faster .
See i do have a brain rattling around in my empty barnet  ;D

I suppose it depends on your work.

on average i use the 27  maybe 2-3 times a day, rest of the time i use the 18.

I had a 22 only for a long time, this is the best compromise pole imo, it covered 95% of work but i now prefer having the lightness of the 18 and put up with the weight of the 27 a couple of times a day.

I dont mind the weight of my slx with an extension and the added weight of the 14inch dual trim brush. I suppose its what you get used too.
I mean a couple of years back I was carrying a large pair of  ladders (box  framed)  around and walking five miles to work with them when the car died. Then in the othdr hand carrying a large oblong bucket full of water.
So lugging them around each house n to the next one compared to wafting a pole around is a piece of cake really.

perhaps when I get much older a lighter pole may be more advantageous buy for now I cant be bothered switching poles for different jobs

I use an 18 for 90% and a 35 for the rest.
If my joints were good, I would use a 22 and 35

SLX 22 is the best all round pole imo..

I used a slx 25 for 6 years with no problems but i then bought a 22 which is much better...shorter and lighter and still reaches all my windows ( i have lots of houses with windows above conservatories too) its cheaper too ;)

an SLX 22 it too short to use every day for me so a SLX 25 is the best pole for every day use i find.itll reach most 3 storey windows/velux and awkward windows over connys and extensions etc.....

anything higher then its an xtreme 47...

price higher/work harder!
