My old van T230 Connect and system

Hi fellas,
I'm getting a newer van shortly. So I'm thinking of selling my Transit Connect with the system in it.
Trouble is : 1. It needs new sills, reversing switch and exhaust (near manifold) renewing.
2. I haven't got a clue what my system is worth today!
It's 500ltr upright tank, pumps etc, fully operational.
What is the going rate do you think?
What would you do, wacky it on eBay?
Thanks,Nic

You haven't given us any detail - age of van, mileage, general condition of body except rusty cills or what system you have.
If the system is good with a frame etc, then take it out and fit it into your new van. An old van is probably better off without a system as it means is can be targeted to a wider spread of potential buyers. It will also cost you less to use that tank and fit it than to buy a new one and have it fitted.
An old rusty van that can be economically fixed is probably worth £750 if its a 53/54 plate with average mileage and some MOT. You might get £1250 if you have the work done and put a full MOT on it. Have a look on Ebay. Just because someone is asking £1500 for one doesn't mean he will get that price for it.
The front pipe near the manifold could also be a problem for you if this is the pipe which includes the catalytic converter. Those will cost between £120 and £300 plus fitting if it can't be welded.
But again, you might find some window cleaner bite your hand off for a van with a full system fitted. I think you always have to be careful selling a van with a system. Is it fitted well or could the new owner sue you for unprofessional fitting if it were in an accident? Could he prove in a law court that you sold him a vehicle which you knew to be unfit for purpose?
If I was still in the commercial trade I wouldn't offer you any additional for the tank inside. In fact, I would probaby take money off the trade in price to have the system removed. I would then take a chance on selling the system separately. Whatever I sold it for would be additional profit.
I would also probably need to replace the ply floor so that would also reflect downwards on the trade in value.

Thanks for the replies.
Thanks Spruce,
Yeah, some good points there!
It is a 54 plate, 93,000 miles. And yes, it is the pipe with cat on it 🤨!!
I hadn't thought about the system comeback if accident happened, so that's got me wondering whether to take it out and sell separately.
