pole hose breaking at the bottom
« on: March 21, 2018, 04:22:30 pm »
hi, the way in which we store poles is using guttering tubes, so you push the pole and pole hose into the guttering pipe.

after about 6 months the pole hose will get a split here, (tried every type) is there an easy work around here that anyone does ?

thanks in advance

I use soil pipes (which are wider than guttering). Another option is to go tubeless - which I'm looking into at the moment.

I have same problem even with soil pipe. We use PU hose and it creases worse at the base than PVC.

I did think of trying these but never got round to it:

They sell various diameters.

Yes I cut off about 30/40mm of pole hose every six months (or when I remember) where it goes into the brush fitting. This makes the fold point at the other end slightly different and you only lose about five/six inches in two years.

By which time it may well have become worn out elsewhere along its length.
It's a game of three halves!

Go for it.

We use gutter downpipes but it’s a bit bigger than the standard size only have two poles with hose attached all the rest are hoseless , I use ionics orange  and the blue pole hose from exceed generaly lasts 2-3 years before it splits try cooling it up with genital curves in the hose rather than it being bent over at right angles if you get what I mean

It's where the poles go in the pipes and the hose kinks at the end up against the van bulkhead. That's the problem.

What ya all using tubes for ? Just pop your poles in gutter brackets, holds 'em just the same, no wear ??????

When i say "gutter brackets" , i actually mean downspout brackets.

Youve all seen I use D guttering which is still sliding poles down and ive had it that way for about 2 n half years now and never a problem.  Are you hokding the pole hose too tight when your sliding pole down which is causing this crease?
If not,  have you tried rhino pole hose
