Survey/Quotation form
« on: June 21, 2006, 06:44:55 pm »
Hi guys

After a slow start the phone has now started to ring ;D.

I am resisting the temptation to price per room and quote over the phone (there are a lot of £20per room cc's in my area).

I have formulated a per sq foot price list and try to visit and survey the property, which has worked quite well so far.

Do you guys have any ideas what i would need on a survey/quote form which i can leave with the customer, or even know where i could obtain one.

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew,

Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, only I was just about to ask the same question, and also about invoice forms as they all seem generic and not applicable for CC.

If you don't mind can I also ask what is the set up for invoice forms do I have to have a pad made up by a printer or is it ok to just print off on your PC?

Thank james and steve

I am begining to feel like a capet cleaner 8)

Mike

Hop on board mate the locals are friendly ;D

I use a generic invoice pad from staples and had a self inking stamp made for about £30 quid. I am about to start printing my own invoices using the templates from micosoft website(accessed through word) as i feel it looks a bit more professional.

Thanks again guys

Andrew

I was thinking of doing the Word thing, but don't they have to be two part for the accounts because you make them out at the end of the job in writing. Also you have to make sure you don't lose track of the invoice no. a duplicate or one missing will send mr accountant's head spinning.  >:(

you guys need a accounts program, see your bank they will advise, we use quick books as the accountant also uses it, so all our returns are done on disk, easy  8)

Andrew who made your stamp as we need one made up

all the best

Hi Ian

I have attended the ashby's course (all three day's), and although it was touched on i would still be grateful for further input.

Hi Carpetclean

I am thinking of doing the NCCA courses, i have been carpet cleaning since about april and am really enjoying it. At what point should i consider doing the course as i read a while back that it may be to full on for us newbies ???.

Regards
Andrew

DP design have a nice template for a 2 stage quotation form, looks exactly like the NCCA one ;) they can print your details on the top.

they look very professional.

Personally i think you should  do either the NCCA or the IIRC  as soon as possible. Its not as full on as you think I did the latter course almost as soon as i got in to this game and passed with mid a mid 90 score i think you need 70 to pass its not hard at all people who say it is could not have been paying attention. firstly it will help you in two ways it will give you that little extra confidence and secondly and most important you will learn something and there is nothing wrong with that. you may be aware that i am organising an event in august and one of the main topics is the importance of training. if you can make it to the event on the 19th you may find it useful
