I own a static caravan on a large site in Wales. Last time I was down there which was new year I noticed an ad in a local shop from a wc asking for work cleaning caravans at £150 a time! This has given me food for thought when our site re-opens in March!

Read on here yrs ago that not advisable to clean the perspex windows as it ***** or as Mum would put it ruins them.

I looked at buying a caravan few years back but someone who does pressure cleaning and owns a caravan could be confused with being a tinker/pikey, especially when my kids run about with vests on and now i drive a transit....

I live in wales and have cleaned caravans here!

You can charge a decent wage and even get some repeat custom.

Caravans are a different ball game though, some can be very hard work and have staining etc that you cant shift!

One of my usp's was that the wfp is the "safest" method to clean a caravan. If you look into it you are not supposed to clean a caravan with a jet wash as they cause damage and water ingress , apparently even the caravan manufacturers don't recommend it.

All they have on offer where I am (north wales) is jet wash and I never heard a single bit of good feedback from it.

We do a few but most won’t pay more than £30 we charge £100 that includes a 10x10 decking area

I own a static near St Andrews, I've often thought about offering a caravan cleaning service on site but the thought of going along there and working instead of sitting on the decking relaxing with a few beers puts me off

I clean my own with wfp. (Small old tourer not a static)

When it was permanently on site in Devon the site owner arranged for someone to give it a clean once a year and charged me £45.00. It was cheap enough for me not to bother going down with the van and do it myself.

However when it is was on my drive I did it with wfp off of a small ladder to get the roof and now I store it locally I do it before putting it to bed for winter and putting a cover on it.

In October I was doing it and two people came up in the 90 minutes I was taking and asked if I was looking for more work - I wasn't.

2 reasons. On my old caravan I don't mind doing the (plastic/perspex) windows wfp and using a stanley to scrape bits of green out of the trim. On someone else's newer van I'd be a bit paranoid.

You need a short ladder to get head and shoulders above the roof and even if practiced I don't think it would take less than an hour and unlikely to fetch more than £50.

I got £60 for washing a standard tourer last week. It took no more than an hour all told. Got a call back to say how clean it looked, but it was the e on g one DOH!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't pay 100 pounds for a static cleaning you will find out most people do it them self s because of the price . To be honest a static only takes half an hour to clean so if 30 TO 40 pounds was charged then a lot of people would probably have them cleaned

On average we clean approx 250 per year on various holiday parks

we do both WFP and jet wash however its done on low pressure takes 2 guys around 25 mins to clear gutters and clean sides 1 hr if the roof is to be washed as well good add ons for decking cleans - patio areas etc....

these are for the 30 to 40 footers some are double widthjobbies too

Wouldn't touch touring caravans, the windows are very easily scratched leaving you open to blame even if it wasn't your
fault plus they can get black run marks from joints and seals that are a pain to remove.

Not quite the same thing but I clean a few caravan roofs for my customers. They usually do the rest themselves but have trouble with roofs. I find them a pain to be honest and I do them more as favours than money earners.

I think if you are doing conservatory cleans and valets, then why not offer caravan (motor home) cleaning and valets. I know it's not quite the same thing as ones on site, but always worth a punt.

Get yourself a quick leaflet and put them round.
