upgrading tools
« on: June 16, 2006, 06:35:39 pm »
I am seriously considering getting a ninja with 400psi pump and v2 steam mate

I dont want to get rid of my Extracta hand tool or Extracta scrubba power brush though

So my question is, what do i need to do to these tools so they can handle the extra heat and pressure?

And were do i source the parts i need or were can i find somone to do it for me?

The 400 psi will give you the agitation you require therefore you could dispense with the scrubber. Not sure what rating the hand tool has. However why not just reduce the pressure when using it. The 400 psi is really designed for the wand anyway.

You need a cfr tool if running at that sort of pressure, anything above 300psi with the handtool and it will go pop

I guess im just used to the scrubba, it allways gives me good results so i wanna keep it, if it turns out i can clean just as good with a wand at 400psi then all the better but at least i know i have it on the van should i need it.

Also wanna keep my handtool for stairs and under beds etc.

I like the extracta hand tool because of the window and the brush that come with it, i would be willing to by a new one but cant find one with these features.

I remember reading about people using the scrubbas with truck mounts, so i know it can be done
not so sure with the hand tool though, the solution hose on it is rated upto 300psi so i think i could do with changing that, what else is there, just the valve?

Red, I thought you were using a truck mount, obviously I thought wrong. Anyway, John as always is correct in advising that the higher pressure is all the agitation that is needed. Accordingly what ever this scrubba thing is that you use will become a thing of the past. Also, I like the running pictures on your web site but I have to ash, why are you using a hand tool to clean the carpet with?? Best, Dave.

I wondered when somone would see that, you know what it was a small job just stairs and a small entrance hall

and seen as i had the handtool conected allready to do the stairs, i really couldnt be bothered to go back to the van and get somthing else and connect it all up just to pack it all back again ten minutes later , so i just carried on as i was
