« on: November 15, 2017, 06:53:31 pm »
Hi all
Just got a job cleaning horsebox lorrys,it seems some owners don't keep the horse bit on said lorry very clean (and very unhijeanic for horse,
So here's my Q how do I remove dryed horse poo which been there God knows how long
Tryed all the norm autosmart 101 , car wash, some strong truck wash,
I'm thinking hot water or steam
Thanks for helping as I'm a bit stuck (not in said poo) it's dry

So nobody answered you in just over a day and that’s the end to it is it?  Have you tried asking elsewhere?  I don’t know how to do it either but I would probably start by contacting a few stables and asking them.  If you don’t get any joy off those  explore other alternatives like try scraping the bulk off with a dry scraper and washing it down with warm soapy water.  If all this fails contact Tesco and see if they need any shelf fillers!

High flow turbo nozzle. Keep your mouth shut whilst you are doing it.

If it is a  wooden trailer (unless you can  dry it thoroughly afterwards),  I wouldn't, as it will eventually rot the floor and box, in addition it drives any contaminants deeper into the structure of the box.  A foaming detergent would help or something based on peroxide. I don't think there is anything other than long dwell times or manual scrubbing with a wire brush and floor scraper.
Then a wash over with green gloop at 1:100
I have attached a general advice sheet.

Dwell time is the answer. I chuck a gallon of disifectant in the tank and park the lorry on a hill so the poop runs out. Wet it out and have a tea

My daughter works at a stable and cleans out horse boxes, she advises me that she soaks in hot soapy water, nothing complicated and not much help to you really.
