Hi & thanks for the add.

I am 43 years young and tired of being an employee. Siam taking the plunge and going to become my own boss & start a Carpet & Upholstery cleaning business.

I am based near Harrogate and plan for n doing my course over the next month or two.

I have questions regarding a machine, for a starter I need something that is suitable for the first few months.
Sooooo I am thinking Prochem Steempro Galaxy and have seen one that is 12 months old upgraded too.
Or a Karcher 30/4 E that is ex demo and like new.
Karcher are slated by many but is it justified

I look ok forward to any advice and if anyone has a second hand machine would love to know.

TBH both machines aren’t up to the professional grade based on what other machines are being widely used, as you’re just starting you’ll find that there’s a big learning curve and by having inferior machinery it will yield inferior result and probably over wetting which causes damage if anything you need more power ie vacuum to leave things drier as your technique grows you’ll find that the results come easier and customers call more.

You’ll find that a grand doesn’t go a long way, my spotting box with all of its chemicals brushes, water claw, hair drier, steamer, iron and many other things would come to near enough your budget then there’s a vacuum cleaner commercial grade (you can’t go taking a dyson into someone’s home) then rotary and pads, a wand is a couple of hundred that’s a cheap one and pipes for solution and also vacuum they’re a hundred a piece and that’s before you’ve bought an extraction machine and insurance a van and other things.

and a grand is nowhere near enough to start off sorry..
