could you please help we have our first full house clean we have already cleaned the carpets but we have to clean the rest of the property its a 4 bed cottage/house the down stairs have stone flooring and extension to kitchen need help with price please.

Is it a spring clean, end of tenancy? insides of cupboards, oven, fridge, microwave etc.. Do you have to give a price before you clean or are you going to clean it and then charge for what  hours are worked? You'll need to post abit more info

its a end of tenancy clean everything needs cleaning she wants a quote from us then shes going to find the cheapest what do you think would be rsonable to charge?

I am not in your business sector but all I would charge is whatever my hourly rate is based on the expected number of hours.

I would not sell myself cheap just to get the job.

If thats what she is wanting maybe you would be better using your time with a more viable client??

Hi Andy

I have found it very difficult to quote for end of tenancy cleans and have usually underpriced. I cleaned a 4 bedroomed 2 bathroomed house about a month ago which was very dirty as they had 2 dogs and they had not cleaned anything before leaving. I quoted £220 and they knocked me down to £200. The clean took me a day and a half and I felt like I had worked to hard for the money. Yesterday one of my cleaners went into a property and was charged out at £10 per hour. We had been given a list of certain areas that needed cleaning ( limescale on taps, oven ect) and so 6 1/2 hours were spent in the property. Although we were booked by the letting agents the owner turned up just as my cleaner was mopping the kitchen floor. Th owner said that she was happy with everything and so my cleaner packed up and went. Now the owner has complained that £65 for a full house clean was far to expensive and that the cleaner should have been down on her hands a Knees scrubbing the kitchen floor. Sometimes you just can't please some people. I have told the letting agents that the owner can go get screwed.

Make sure you charge enough so that it worth your while, sometimes I think a higher price gets more respect from certain people and they think you must have worked very hard to charge it.

Skype is an excellent tool, it's free to download and free to call. Knocks the spots off of MSN and the video (if you want it is full screen and time delay is minimal.

I call China, USA, Brazil, France & Russia and it costs me nothing, you can even get a skype card and call to landlines anywhere in the world and you get harged local rate.

hello there just ran across ur post and find it hard to believe! u are extremely underpricing yourself.

i am in the west country and i just invoiced a client for a tenant clean at £980. I charge an average of £20 ph just to clean this includes the costs of cleaning products as well.

I also charge on top of that removal of rubbish either for skip hire or trips to the skip and each trip to the skip in my van I charge £50. Carpet cleaning we charge £30 ph.

I have extremely happy customers - it is bloody hard work though. I have repeat customers and they refer me to their friends. I now have cleans every day of the week except Monday which is my day to relax and take care of parperwork. My husband and I are averaging £1500 a week at present. We also have an emergency clean service and those rates go even higher.

The filthier and worse state the house is in the more I charge and rightfully so! We have cleaned everything from blood,guts, vomit, animal feces etc. We have yet to find dead bodies.

Don't sell urself cheap. As long as u can back it up in performance.
