just a thought ,i have had a few new customers remarking about the encounters of w f p users they have used. any way i have managed to win them over ,they seem to be loads of poor w f p users about.do you think trad could make a strong come back ?    i don't

Of course it could make a big come back , but it wont be me doing the trad , i can do it very well , i can also wfp like a master , but if i had to go back to ladders in the morning for good then  "Sorry Dave , i'm OUT "

Not really - I've had as many complaints about trad windies as WFP guys - but it is easier to pick up the trad ones as a bad experience with WFP can stop them using another and then they are on their guard examining every nook and cranny of every window - if they are not convinced i don't worry about it. - we charge double for any trad cleaning now and thats ground floor only - still WFP uppers

Trad will have its place and you can earn reasonable money - but no where near what WFP can bring in

Agree with a lot of the above comments.

But how many of us, myself included!  Perhaps put off switching to wfp for the very same reasons. I picked up quite alot of work when i was trad working from poor experiences with wfp. That put me of for a very long time, it was only due to a friend i was helping who switched over and after a small period of time i was won over and then i followed suit.
Ive said it many a times on here before, the problem is customers will blame a poor trad worker for their work but blame the wfp for not doing a good job but not the person using it!!  Thats how i explained it to these customers after a couple of yrs doing theirs trad method and then switching them over to what they thought they didnt like. Once they re thought about the logic of that, i had no problems.
......for the smear campaigners on here harping on about my quality because for whatever reasons i seem to be doing what they cant and so my quality must be bad       I have not lost one yet who has come to me prior or since ive been wfp who had a bad experience in the past. I still have all them.

So i dont think trad work will prevail. It just means potentiality a bigger market for us who do it right!!😆😆

Ive even aquired new customers who tell me where their taps are so i can plug in 😯 as thats what the last wfp did!!

i don't agree with bigger market for us  I.e more w f p users less work because you get the job done quicker there for you look for more  work I don't know about you but where I am it is swamped with shiners, and it is a small northern town, were getting side tracked ere.

no way in a million years will trad make a comeback!

wfp is just a tool for the job(a very profitable useful one!)just like mop and squeegee.neither are perfect but if your attentive you can do an acceptable job with both.

most problems with wfp are due to being inexperienced in cleaning different types of windows,rubber seals,skimping on water,water quality or outside factors beyond your control(wind on a dry day,nearby building work etc).

Iv yet to meet a splash and dash wfp'er who doesn't think his work is top quality, low prices, low customer expectations
plus the lack of any decent competition tends to keep them in work.
For guys who have to compete with quality then things aren't just as handy especially if the splash and dash guys have ruined
the methods reputation in your targeted area and the quality is coming from traditional guys.

IMO the worst thing with WFP is the trolley.  Reason being you are trying constantly to save water and not rinsing and cleaning properly especially on first cleans. So customer think b******s to this wet window crap - give me a trad man

2 trad window cleaners ive known for years have both gone wfp over the last year or so.one of them is using a trolley and ive picked up a few of his unhappy customers lately.he s basically skimping on water and not rinsing enough,he uses a very low flow.ive told him a few times he needs to rinse more and his answer is always "i dont care!"

When a person canvasses for work there are many variables; does the potential client require a window cleaner, are they looking for a change of cleaner.........how much they are willing to pay and crucially do they like you//your face.
The parts which you can influence, influence!!! Sell yourself and your service regardless if someone did a bad job in the past with trad or wfp thats irrelevant if you know how.

2nd dont try n convince people that the price of a service determines what a person requires from it (especially let us not get into another debate because you dont know my clientele nor my prices etc, so lets not make this personal).
What may be cheap to one person could still seem high to another. Personnally i go by the fact that if i buy something regardless of the asking price than I expect it to do what its intended to do.  Lol when we buy cheap chinese products they still do what they were intended to do.....but we dont expect it to last!!   So customers will still expect all windows to be cleaned regardless what they pay.
As for cheap prices, the customer didnt dictate the price the wfp did. So if in his mind (or yours) you can cut quality because they are paying a cheap price then that is something that person needs to think about and do something about their prices........again its not the customers fault, they expect to get what they paid for, what they get told and for the price they are told

I've got a lovely 8 weekly wfp round and also do a few bungalows trad. I quite enjoy them.
I'm 53 now and thinking I wouldn't mind a complete round of trad bungalows and save all the wear and tear on my shoulders etc.
It's just me, but I wouldn't mind going back to basics. Bet I pick up a block of flats next week and that will all change.

I honestly feel sorry for trad cleaners when I see them these days especially in hot weather,it'll never make a come back far to many wcs using the pole now and they all find it 100% easier than before. Why would anyone want to go back to trad cleaning it would be like going back to cutting trees down by hand.

If you finding wfp hard when scrubbing use 60 odd degree water hardly any scrubbing needed at all when using water that warm,a quick glide over the window and off you trott.

No ,I don't thinkTrad could make a come back .For the simple reason most people will always try to do a job the easiest  way .In our case with a pole As for to many WFP cleaners I say bring it on The more competition  will help keep me on my toes .
