Currently running a GX390 WS202 21lpm machine. When we first bought it the pressure was great, had to use two hands to operate the lance. Now it's easy to hold it with one hand as the pressure is nothing like it was.

Unloader was faulty last week so that's been replaced with a new K1 which has been adjusted properly. Engine, gearbox and pump have all had new oil in the last week. I've had the air box off completely as well for test purposes so it's not a fault on that side. The brass filters on the pressure washer side of the water inlets have also been removed and cleaned out, and the weighted filters on the water suction side have also been replaced.

I'm running out of ideas to explain the pressure loss, so I'm hoping someone here may be able to shed some light on the problem?

We're using a heavy duty reel with 50m of high pressure hose - could this be the cause? It's rated at a much higher flow and pressure than what we're using so I wouldn't have thought so personally. I stand to be corrected on that though.

Edit - just been told the high pressure hose has burst on site. Could a worn high pressure hose have caused a drop in pressure as described?

same happened with my pw had a hose burst last week and replaced it defo seems more power

Brand new turbo nozzle on the lance. Correct 065 jet size. Even tried another 25 degree nozzle and it's still down on power.

few checks i would do -

take filter off suction hose and connect some way to mains feed and pressurize the feed hose , this will show any air leaks as you will see water leaking out - dont need to start the machine to do this ( if there is air leaks in suction hose or fittings that will cause pressure loss )

make sure barb on your suction filter is 3/4 inch as 1/2 inch will restrict flow

so this is one of these twin feed suction hose set ups ??

2 suction hoses mean double the chance of air intake leaks etc

Change the valves in the pump.

Spot on. Every one of the valves in the pump had cracked due to lads on site leaving the machine running dry without any water circulating. Replaced the valves, seals and a couple of cracked pistons and all is back 100% again.

Think it's about time they started paying for the damage when they're careless with the machines. Not happy.
