Winter Gloves....
« on: August 08, 2017, 08:16:50 pm »
Yes I know its only just August....

I last year found a pair of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=Thermo+Plus&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XThermo+Plus+gloves.TRS0&_nkw=Thermo+Plus+gloves&_sacat=0 at a window cleaning store here in .NL

Anyone use them? These have so far been the best gloves I have ever used for wfp'ing.... warm, waterproof... What I did do however was 'man them up' a bit with some old protecta-kote I have in the shed.... roughed up the surface of the gloves in the typical wear-spots and then dabbed the protecta-kote on.... The only thing issue I have with gloves like this is that my hands must sweat alot because after a while they do tend to smell like dead bodies....

Do you have any other winter gear you think is the dogs?

The more I know the less I know I know ...

I bought some rock climbing gloves from an outdoor shop - cost me about £40 and were the dogs b******s . However !! They only lasted about 1-2 months and were all ripped , but they were excellent in the freezing cold

Skytec argons.

I wouldnt look anywhere else now. About £5 a pair if you get them on sale, get a few pairs and they will see you through the winter.

Showa 460.

Warm as toast.  Amazingly so.  Little bit cumbersome for the first day you wear them then you adjust.  You need a couple of pairs in case water gets into the lining.  At the end of the winter you'll be binning both pairs but they really are the dogs wotsits.

theres an easy fix to stop your gloves/hands smelling (wear nitrile glove liners underneath your regular gloves).

my gloves of choice in winter are showa 377s or skytech argon gloves.

if it gets really cold ive got some glacier "perfect curve" gloves which are ace(like a wetsuit for hands!)keeping them warm and dry.
price higher/work harder!

I use these on a day 2 day basis , they are excellent.... but rubbish in cold weather . My fingers feel like ice Lollys!

Argon for me > The last pair I bought from Screwfix. The chap said they are fit all size which was not true so have one good fitting pair and one small pair. It makes me mad when sales guys don`t know their products.
