Just had 5000 of these done by Vistaprint (using their online design templates) cost me £115 only ordered 5k as I wanted to give them a test but I will be order more in the future. I will stick them inside my other folded leaflet

I'm going to start ordering small batches of leaflets targeting  set areas then altering the headline of the leaflet to match....... e.g.: '  Cottinghams local pressure washing company..... £25 discount for local cottingham residents

A 28hp diesel drain jetter with a big speck pump, its mounted in the van above a water tank, to be honest I think it might be a bit heavy for the van but I make sure I don't overfill the water tank.

not sure I'd want to be known as "Cheap and Cheerful"   why not "quick and slap dash"

Didn't think of that, but now that you mention it that bullet point was originally 'professional service' and I replaced it with 'cheap and cheerful'.

The reason being is that a few people have mentioned my website looks too good for what I'm doing and people viewing it might think it's a very expensive service. Not sure if they make a valid point so decided last minute to put cheap and cheerful on there to remove any doubt the customer may have. I only had 500 made so the next batch I'll remove that anyway with 'affordable service' or something along those lines.

I’ve adapted my leaflets,  I have added an updated photo of myself as I was told  by an elder rly couple I look old and trustworthy :D

I think it’s a very good point if you do look old then people will instinctively trust you and think you know what you are doing

It’s DL size that’s why it’s on it’s side....

each to their own - I always think people that need to have their own picture on a flyer/tv advert etc.. are a bit of a narcissist

Re Flyer - I'd rather people think I'm expensive and value my work than expect a cheap price.    QUALITY  COUNTS!

and just another point - on your web site you have stated you ADD value to a property - how exactly do you do that ?

I actually agree with you about using yourself  in your advertising when it’s on a national or global  basis ( Steve jobs, Richard Branson etc) but when you advertise on a very small scale like within 5 miles of your home or in a small town. Then  using your own image has i think its advantages.  People recognise you,  they remember using you before so the leaflet act as a reminder card.

But I can understand why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea

Nice flyer Mike, I think your smile on there says it all, confident, capable and trustworthy  :)

I really need to rethink my flyers I know I can get them to work just is the worst time of year to start this business up so it's hard to measure which are doing good against the instant throw it in the bin.

Darran I stated it 'can' add value to your property not actually 'add' value. When I made the website I looked at lots of other similar websites and I saw that mentioned on a few of them, quite a few of them so I adopted it. I think it actually can add value to a property being clean or at least the websites I visited convinced me of it lol

Ok,  how CAN it add value .......

you wrote it,  think of me as a customer and asking the question how is your cleaning adding value to my home ??

NOTE:   Because loads of websites (usually written by owners of the business) state this does not make it fact.

Don't get into blaming the time of year, we are currently doing a full roof clean every other day - more than ever before - Pressure washing, carpet cleaning, builder etc... all take time to roll out - you should be prepared to be quiet for the first year before things really start to pick up to a level where you get more work than you can handle

You got me there Darran, struggling to find the words to justify 'it can add value to your property' but I saw that in several places and although I can't remember the wording it was at least enough to convince me at the time. I'll refind those sites and revert back!

Yes I'm in for a struggle I'm prepared for that but I do blame the time of year. I only offer driveway, decking, paths and patio cleaning I even offered my neighbour at a mega cheap price and they said sure when spring comes around. Also my grandad didn't want his cleaning because 'time of year' and I offered to do that for pretty much free but he said come nice weather I can do it.

I was reading some comments on a Youtube video he said he doesn't work November to January only works 9 months a year because it's so slow. I need to add another service I'm thinking carpet cleaning might get me by! Sorry going off topic now  :)

Don't believe everything you read - what does not work for some works for others - you will always get people say things like wait until spring - not this month etc.... that's business - offering cheap does not give you any more chance of getting the work.

and the fact you can't justify the statement CAN add value shows you are inexperienced and not yet fully comfortable selling your services....

What you need to be saying is our cleaning service will enhance your properties looks and kerb appeal - we will increase the chances of you selling your property for the asking price - most properties are 'sold' within the 15 seconds of people arriving at the front door  ( you follow my drift )

a house for sale at £250k with a dirty drive is still only worth £250k with a clean drive but in all likely hood will sell quicker
even roof cleaning does not add value BUT it will save you cash as people are less likely to make a lower offer

Likewise - this is an ideal time to clean paths etc... as the winter sets in the algae will be slimy and slippery and very dangerous for the old and infirm a WINTER clean will make paths safe to use.

Go to care homes, housing assoc.  businesses - all those who may have liability if some one slips

It might not add value, but all you need to say is (if anything along these lines at all) ‘can make your house more desirable to buyers’ or similar.

In fairness, a well presented houses and clean driveways/patios, will probably add a small amount of value to a property, particularly if the current state of the driveway/patio is full of moss, weeds and years of dirt.

I’m not sure you could prove it without asking an estate agent, but personally, I would be more willing to pay more if the driveway and patios looked brand new... I think to the average Joe blogs and his wife, the cleaner the house and surrounding land, the more interest it’s going to receive...
