My vacuum no 1  7.2 vacuum motor is making a funny noise still works but goes quite and then loud again.  I've just ordered a new 7.2 vacuum why are these £249 and the 6.6 vaccum motor is only £99 shocking I think I'm going to modify my machine again so it takes the 6.6 motors again

I think your chasing the Holy Grail of vac power from a portable machine when it really doesn't make a difference in end result. 3x 1500 watt, 2x 6.6 etc the real world difference is actually no difference.

But suppliers rub their hands selling you lots of different motors for you to keep fitting!!

so this is a second Enforcer u have ?   u could have fitted a 6.6 or a 5.7 along with the existing working 7.2   ( too late to cancel ? )  :)

I suppose the suppliers want to make 50%to 100% on the vacs they sell .
I can tell you what they are buying them wholesale at  ...
The 7.2  , there are about two models usually used , they are about 1300 or 1400w  , costs betweem £135 amd £155 wholesale
The 8.4 is £135 wholesale
The 6.6 is just £55 wholesale

Its possible some suppliers could get them even cheaper with big direct shipment from ametek .

Yea this is my 2nd 1 John Martin  i bought this 2nd hand it has 2 x 7.2 vacuum motors in. The problem is my other machine is away getting 2 new cables and few other bits done so have no machine working had to cancel all jobs from today new motor is arriving today so I will get it fitted i didn't really have time to make the metal bits to fit the 6.6 motors plus they were sold out at world wide cleaning support.

its about 25mm between the center of each hole on the spacer . But test it first to make sure . U can also drill the hole a bit bigger to give u wiggle room .

i would also suggest that anyone that has a machine that comes with 8.4 vacs as standard  ....
should  fit a   £100   6.6 if an 8.4 blows .

They loose no power ,  the days of paying 250-300 for a vac motor should long over .
