Gardiners compact brush
« on: June 21, 2017, 08:25:34 pm »
Been using the supreme for last few months and its basicaly been crap for me.

As soon as it hits the glass it like a feather duster and splays like new born giraffes legs.

The compact l used today is way more like it and the scrubbing is much better. The bristles hold together and l feel its much better for rinsing on (or rinzing as alex puts it????). Especialy on the top edge of the glass.

Much better.(for me)

You can't beat xline brushes.
I bought a Gardiner's medium ultimate last week, used it for 1 house, took it off and sold it to a mate the next day. It felt like a toothbrush on the glass, there's just not enough bristles on them.
The one good brush Gardiner's make are the flocked sill which are great on fascia's and cons. Not so good for everyday use though.

Not everyone cares about lightness. I want Gardiner's to make a brush with as many quality bristles as they can pack onto a brush head.
Xline brushes tend to have a row of 3 outer bristles, whilst Gardiner's only have 2, or even 1 on the extremes. I'd take the slightly extra weight for better scrubbing power and longevity anyday.

I find gardiner flocked ultimate a decent brush. Also like xtreme hybrid with natural bristles.

One thing I would prefer on the Gardiner bushes is to do away with the extra jet holes and have more of the inner bristles, especially  on narrow brushes like the supreme as they have too few inner bristles.

so which x line brush do you recommend  for maintenance window cleaning only . We currently use gardiners super light .  But due some new ones soon so wouldn't mind trying something else .

Just looked on there site . I'm not interested in cill or flocked . So it looks like the dual trim mono . I presume it's similar to the super light ? Anyone use those  rinse bars ?

Only on certain windows, not a fan of it realy as l find it leaves little bits all over glass.

Some windows that are hard to reach, if l rinse off and do a few of them in a day l find it knackering so l rinse on. But only if theyre hydrophillic.

The xline mono is great for maintenance cleaning. They last forever.
Personally I use the flocked as it's great on all windows, wood, lead, sash etc so I don't have to keep swapping brushes.
If you buy now you can get 20% off 2 brushes so you can try the mono and flocked ;)

the xline brushes are good but too heavy to use all day every day.

do some of you guys really use brushes this heavy all day every day? ::)roll

i have lots of awkward angle windows on some parts of my round and i find an xtreme natural bristle hybrid brush is best for this work or any ultimate brush.
price higher/work harder!

We use super light brushes 260g . The x line brush 222g . So it will feel lighter for us .

I use nothing but xline brushes and honestly don't notice the weight.
But then I do go to the gym multiple times a week to pump iron ;)

yep done 3 hard sessions in the gym this week mate. :)

ive just got used to using lighter brushes.also my poles feel like their gonna snap using SL brushes at full stretch over extensions/connys.(slxs and xtremes).they feel like a brick for this type of work.ok for straight up and down though.
price higher/work harder!

I'm unhappy if brush weighs more than 1450g, anything more on a extreme pole feels like a brick.
