I need longer hose , so I'm going to join them together.

If it is only rarely you need more than (say) 100 metres then I would just have an extension made up of old hose and use ez-snap or whatever fittings to make it longer. Probably wouldn't even have a reel but one of those lawnmower extension lead thingies you can wrap it round.

If you have  (say)30 or 50 plus extra metres permanently on your reel you may get jumping off issues and/or weight issues if you need to lift it.

If it's really long then you might get pressure drop though.

Yeah, I'd  do the EZ snap thing if only required occasionally! Otherwise unnecessary extra weight to wheel in and out.
If it's a permanent thing and your adding on 30+metres then I'd go for the metal barb hosetail, especially if using warmer to hot water. Double 'o'clip it.  If using cold all the time, I'd still use metal joiner myself, just due to longevity and strength, but you'd only need one o clip. Good luck.

Use the same fitting as you use to connect your pole hose to your reel hose then they become easily interchangeable.

If u joining the hose on the reel u prob best to use an inline connector, these cost about £1.50 or so, but if u connecting pole hose then just use a jg push fitting
