Morning

I have recently been asked to pressure wash the exterior walkways of  an existing commercial window cleaning job.
They want chewing gum removed.
After research a hot pressure washer seems to be the order of the day.
My question: Any of you chaps use a hot pressure washer and double it up to your wfp system?
Is it possible? Any drawbacks?

I heat my water in a 500 ltr tank in van using an immersion heater. I get the water upto now about 65 degrees to 70.
Yesterday i did a pressure washing job and used some of this water and it worked a treat.
However depending how old or trodden down the gum, maybe a turbo nozzel would be best and if hot water required it might need to be hotter than those temperatures??

Nathan...how long does it take from opening the valve at the start of the day to getting  hot at the brush through 100 metres of hose?

I have immersion heater in storage tank at home.
Effective for taking the chill of water.

As you say though for chewing gum I would have thought you would need to keep the temperature high.

I am wanting to buy a hot pressure washer for this purpose piped from the customers water supply.
But as a bonus be able to use the pressure washer to heat the van tank purified water for wfp work.

Anyone use this as opposed to gas lpg heater or diesel heater?

It doesnt take that long, perhaps half way through cleaning the first house.
But i have found that i need the flow on 75 or higher for it to be trully effective. Anything slower and the heat transfer more into the hose than coming out at the brush end. So im running mine at 79 on digi controller from pure freedom. It keeps the maximum heat in tank through to brush end.

No as is a totally different system to a wfp hot water heater.

Regards to getting a hot washer van/trailer set up suitable for efficient gum, graffiti and other specialist  surface cleaning you would need to invest heavily to buy decent kit. My advice is best you just pass the work on to a specialist firm that is geared up to do this type of work.

Other firms have been i to quote offering pressure washing in with the window cleaning.

How will you power it? It will need a 240v electric supply. You can't use a transformer off your van battery it require too much power.

Are your WFP solution lines rated for steam, and high pressure (2000psi) you need to run at high psi to activate the flow switch so the burner fires up. It will also spike the temp when it first fires up as the thermostat doesn't kill the fuel quick enough so you can get burst of steam.

It can't be done without a massive alteration, the best way to use it is to fill your water tank with it so you have a hot supply

Hi. I have used a pressure washer hot box to heat my reach and wash water but you need to use 1/2 inch pipe to the pole as with 8 mm you don't get enough water flow to activate flow switch don't have thermostat to high   You will need a 240 socket or they can run on an inverter as they only draw 2 amps. Other option is get a 12 volt hot box. you can then also use the hotbox to heat the water from a cold pressure washer to remove chewing gum

Dave these 12v hot boxes sound interesting(Mazzoni hot box 21-30lpm)
I could use one with a seperate pressure washer and possibly use to heat the tank water for wfp.

Anyone had any experience with the hot boxes?
Am i right in thinking these are basically the inner workings of ionics hotbox or different animal?

Why not just keep the two things seperate? Stick an immersion in tank for wfp and a seperate hot box for the pressure washer, especially if your not using the pressure washer that much
