Do a search buddy, theres a thread on here how to d.i.y your reel for about 45quid.  I recently did mine and its brill, makes light work of it

it looks a bit of a hazard to me with the open chain ... have you had any mishaps?

Been using it about 2 months and no mishaps.   Mate its not a chain saw or a mega powerful motor. If your winding the chain in and stand on it or hold the hose for instance, it will stop.
Its not a motorbike chain where if it comes off n splits it will have your arm off lol.
Though it might be a problem if you try dangling something into it on purpose but im guessing on a whole no one is going to do that.

Its a 24v motor operating from a small 12v battery. Its enough speed and power to safely pull in 100m of minibore hose and 40ft of pole hose

On hd the chain is mostly covered .Only issue i had so far is there is a small leak on internal hose connection .Will have to take hose off to sort .But as said couldn't be without it now

Just buy 1 bolt it down attach 2 wires to the battery and away you go.

Just attach two wires to the battery is that every time you want to reel hose in because if you fasten wires on constant the pump will contuasly be running
