For those of you who have a ball cock valve in the top of your tank which size is it.
My transfer hose is one inch with a tap. I have a sub pump in my storage tank and it takes about 8 minutes to fill my small tank.
Thought it would be good to just attach my hose and let the ballcock stop the flow when full.
Had to reduce the one inch hose down to half inch for the ball cock.
Timed the fill at 30 minutes!
A one inch ball cock valve is available but it's around £40.
Just wondered what you guys do.

How would the ball cock stop the pump though?

Suppose it's the same as filling from the mains when the float rises the valve shuts and it stops filling.
I know what you mean but the tank stopped filling and the pump didn't alter.
