their friends and neighbours 'let the cat out of the bag!'

During the last couple of weeks I've found out the first names of quite a few of my elderly customers who I've only ever known by their surnames. So I can call them Cynthia, Gwenda & Margot now ...

Made me chuckle anyway  ;D

any new customers i take on now i make sure their name is on their account/invoice/worksheet.

i hate not knowing their names but i dont know half of my customers names and call them "sir or love" as i can instantly forget when they tell me esp with hundreds of customers(remember most are couples, then theres the kids names!)so your looking at remembering around  700 names if you have 350 accounts.

some of my customers ive cleaned for over 20 years and they call me daryl, gary, dave or ask me what my name is when writing a cheque out(that they ve been doing practically every month for years!) ::)roll ;D plus i wear logo d workwear and have a sign written van(not at the moment but its getting done tomorrow)

I've got one that always calls me Barry.
Not sure if he thinks it's because I look like Barry Gibb, Barry Manilow or Barry White?

Maybe they're thinking of Barry 'Bang and the dirt is gone' Scott!
Being diplomatic is being able to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

I always refer my customers to Mr or Mrs, never use their 1st names. Even if they say please...call me by my 1st name, i will for the rest of the visit, but when i see them again its always mr or mrs again
