I got some new customers, where I had to unreel all 100mtr of hose. Down, round, over  and up. All over the place. It was a pain.
3 terrace houses got me £30, so thought ill get a back pack.
I tried it and its great. Pressure etc.
Only down side is, it digs in my arms and cuts circulation.
Anyway. I am using it more and more. Keep getting the hard place to park, the place I don't like leaving door open. SORTED

get some pushbike hand grips cut them open and tape them round the handle and just carry it, easy as

I've discarded my Gardiner v3 backpack straps. I just carry it by the handle. Great piece of kit though ...

A better option is to put it on a sack truck -£20 ish from screwfix , lightweight, folds up to store easily in your van.
Wheel the back pack around instead of carrying it.... I'm surprised Alex G hasn't got this as an option , to buy a sack truck with the back pack or even better , a backpack with wheels attached

Ditto, cant believe people are willing to carry this thing around, full of water. Absolute madness if ask me and its not that i cant (before any remarks   )
But if doing wfp its because of easier life of working, Health n Safety aware or concerned or simply dont want to be up n down ladders or carrying them. But then there are more than willing to lug a back pack around. Yes it obviously becomes lighter but i would have thought theres more sense strapping it to a trolley etc (as professional as they can or not).

i got a little shopping trolley, took the bag off plonked the backpack on and wrapped a bungee cord around it.
easy peasy.
 when i have to drag it through someones house i use them blue overshoes, put 1 on each wheel so`s not to leave dirt tracks on there carpets, when iv finished cleaning the back and used most of the water its really light so i just carry it back through . sorted

put it on a trolley with a bungee or carry it(through a house for example).

used a backpack on a sacktruck for years, believe me carrying it and using a good length of pole hose is much easier

Yes they are great for doing terraced. But what I've found even easier is to get rid of any terraced and stick to easier work.

I bought a backpack years ago and as mentioned got a cheap folding sacktruck and bungeed it onto it.

It rarely gets used now but occasionally Dan the Man might use it for a very "green" conny roof or fascia job to put a detergent mix in to spray on/brush agitate before finishing off with tap or pure water.

I cant carry it as I have arthritis in my wrists.
Sack carts isn't much quicker than using a hose, If there is steps etc.
The back of my van is high (transit) it slips on my back so easy. I can take it off when doing jobs if needed.

Don't have many terrace houses but the ones I have pay good money. I only turn away bad customer

me too although just starting to kick in,  that's what made sacktrucks difficult up n down steps n round corners etc, my grips not bad but the bike grips mean i don't need to put it down halfway there .
  shureflow backpacks are a much better shape for wearing on your back and john hewit at extend2wash used to sell a good one for wearing , better than gardiners i mean

i went for the water genie back pack it has wheels and a adjustable handle seems a good buy so far i only use to to spray tfr on gutters ect tho only niggle is the wheels are plastic so its noisy when wheeling it down the road lol
