Had scrubba deluxe from Extracta. Been great, had 10 years same motor. Think they call it bullet proof. Fancy  trying a rotary one next as opposed to the vibrating paddle with this one. On the odd occasion I've used a wand I've found it exhausting and I'm fit. Think I'd hire a scrubba for the day next time, rather than use a wand.

you shouldn't knock the scrubba deluxe, even tho it's heavy it actually does a fantastic job and does truly clean most carpets even heavily soiled in one pass.

One thing thats great about it is that it uses a lot less water and leaves the carpets much drier than most, u need to use it to appreciate it, and lets face it extracta wouldn't still churn them out if they were useless ::)

I used both the Scrubba 13in Deluxe and the Super 20's more often than anyone could shake a stick at. But they dont even begin to compare with the HM power tools imo.

I bought a used Powermate (18inch) last year.  I hardly use it unless I'm cleaning a really trashed carpet, but then it really earns its keep.

It was only made for 100-120psi and found with the 165psi pump on the ninja the plastic filter housing would "pop" off.  I had the filter removed and smaller jets fitted.  I'ts now a great peice of kit. Brand new I think its about £1000+vat.

IMO
Most of the powerbrushes are overkill - they may be good but if not careful these powerful powerbrushes could damage most domestic carpets.
For 90% of domestic work a similar product to the sebo duo (light weight - medium/soft contra rotating brushes -  brilliant for agitation ) with the ability to work with most HWE machines is ideal - any ideas ? ???

The ES from Ashbys is good, even though mine seems to have some maintainance problems.  I don't see how it could ruin any carpet, and even if the carpet is clean, you can work so much faster.  On clean carpets I hardly use any chemicals anymore, the powerbrush with the steammate running does the trick fine.

I am a powerbrush addict now, and use it on almost every job - plus, if you have it, you can do the commercial work as well.  Try cleaning 3000 square metres of dirty carpet with a wand!!

I think it is £650 new.  I got mine second hand, and I have had trouble with the thermal cut out triping, and the brush bearings.  I wish I had bought it new now!  Get the one with the clear window on the top as it really helps improve your technique, check that your machine is working well, and impress the customer with the dirty water.  Of course, it the carpet is clean, you can see that and work much faster.

My advice - Get one ASAP!  I wish I had.
