Evening All,

Has anyone converted their poles so that the pole effectively has no hose as the hose is now part of the reel hose?

If yôu use these would you recommend them?

How easy is it to modify the poles?

I use it, wouldn't change it along with the univalve

I fact one hose reel has just 80 metres of there blue hose on the reel

It's Just coming up a year  old in march. I didn't expect It to last that long I thought I'd change it every six months which finacaily I don't mind as the connector in the ejector Sleeve is also year old and in very good order

I feel it's better than having the join  between mini bore and pole hose,been no issue in the freezing months which I was surprised about

Corners are fine I'm quite carful and mindful when I work, it can catch as any hose can

It's lighter to pull out and on the electric reel it's very quick to reel in

So I'm happy still get good flow more than enough

Im tubeless nice tidy van one hose is so much easier in my opion .  Saves that little bit of messing around . Pull pole out conect pole do job , then reel it all back on with my electric hose reel . Im using a uni valve too. Why didnt i do this sooner . I love it .

Im using micro bore conected to the blue pole hose with the tubless kit . I did set my diy version of the tubless and that worked a treat . I brought the tubless kit to see how much bettet it was . It has a sleve to protect the female push fittings. Thats about it really .
I went from a tap to a trigger to a tap ti the uni valve .

I have the same 100mtr on mine from a month after the tubeless launch, well over a year ago.
It gets stuck occasionally in gaps in paving slabs, but I guess no set up is perfect.

No sure as I use warm water and don't cross roads. Standing on it stops the flow and if driven over it stops the flow very briefly.

I wouldn't lay the  blue or red pole hose over a road,and to be honest I would never lay micro bore or mini bore  over a road especially if traffic goes over the road

About 20 years ago I worked high street early morning before I sold the round about 3 years ago started 3:45am
 
Well at about 5 o'clock cleaning boots I suddenly got yanked backwards into road and about 30 yards up road, lorry snagged my hose as I used to cross over the road when working

So I never take a hose over a road

Some do, each to there own and yes nothing ever happens but sometimes it does

Yes you can reduce any hose size to the blue.
Like Tony says I'm not happy with it crossing roads unless is a very quiet resi street.

Yea I guess you could use micro bore up the pole, but might be tad heavy and inflexible

But I'm an old Wussy and I want Everything a s light and easy as possible as I want to keep working till I'm really old, as pension sucks

Yeah, you can. I use the blue exceed hose connected to microbore, works well.
But, I would recommend using an hosetail fitting to join the two together for greater strength, especially when using hot. I used the original plastic connector that came with the kit and it kept popping out of the 'o' clips when pulling the hose. Since putting on the metal hosetail fitting ( the male end that goes into the female stop rectus) I've never had a problem.

You can still use the Univalve without having to buy the tubeless set-up Caleb.
You need to 'o' clip it somewhere in the top section of your pole (near the bottom of it perhaps). Make sure the arrow is in-line with your flow.  Make a cut in your pole hose roughly where you are going to place the Univalve in your top pole section. Fix it to your hose. Clip it up tight. Put your pole and hose back together. Off you go.

I too have been using 100m blue ex-ceed pole hose on my reel. Been using it over a year now and it has been great. As I never disconnect the hose from the pole, I permanently have the hose straight up the pole into a univalve. No connectors, so simple.

I want to buy another 100m of hose for the 2nd reel and wondering if anyone else has had good experience with other cheaper hose, like the snot green hose from gardiners etc?

Not only to save a bit of money, but thought a different colour hose would help when the other guy tangles the 2 up!
