Pump problem
« on: February 21, 2017, 09:03:11 am »
Good morning.
Been having a problem with water collecting in my pump box due to leaking connections. I can easily fix that, however not sure if it has damaged my pump. The box left unchecked has filled with maybe an inch of water over the course of a day. Yesterday pump struggled, presumed water on the wiring. Drained and dried all off, worked fine on first job today then same issue. Noticed when pole switched off although pressure switch turned pump off, smoke started to come from pressure switch end of pump. Anybody know what's up ? Do I just need a new pressure switch or is it shot ? Its a shurflo . I'll order a new pump today but only if I really have to .

the pressure switch is only power in then out, so you can bypass it to test.
try to dry out the pump first, for a few hours somewhere warm and dry.

Cheers, I'm going to try  that. Will remove PS too to see if it wet inside. Fortunately I have a back pack I can finish today's work with  ;)
