Anyone on here( that's work is mainly domestic) VAT registered?  Lost as to how to move the business forward because of VAT.

imho don't bother with the margin scheme as it all changed in the budget but your accountant will advise you better than I can.

stick em all up 20% now without going registered and see what happens - if a load  drop off it may take you back under threshold if they don't no problem as they now increased to cover the vat  :)

You've come across the same problem as many. You either need to put the brakes on and stay below VAT threshold, or , if going above it.. put your foot on the gas. One things for certain, you can't teeter about near or just above the threshold , there's no point.

All I can say is it's been painful. I put most prices up by about 10% or so and have been on the flat rate and am now comfortably over it but VAT combined with the costs of a unit have made things tight in comparison. January was horrendous with VAT, corporation tax and PAYE. Through it now but don't underestimate the pain that vat will give you if you're domestic.
